Four-year-old Yaroslav was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in May 2016. Until then he was a happy and very active kid, but suddenly he became drained of energy, unable to play and run around, and developed fever and rash. His parents are doing their best to save their son. Unfortunately, six months of chemotherapy did not produce desired results, and now Yaroslav's only chance to live is to undergo bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor. As these procedures are not done in Ukraine, the government of Ukraine promised to cover a part of Yaroslav's expenses at Medical Park Bahcelievler Hospital in Turkey. However, the parents still need to raise a very large amount as soon as possible and will be very grateful for support.
It’s not too late – you still have time to contribute! Your donation will help us compete for bonus prizes in GlobalGiving’s Year-End Campaign. And, if you set up a new recurring donation, your first contribution will be matched 200%!
For the next week or so we will be sharing statistics about cancer clinical trials. In 2016, about 5,000 NCI-supported clinical trials in cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment were open to patients. You can search for a trial using our updated search form: trials.cancer.gov #ClinicalTrialsbytheNumbers
