Air on the String…..orchestra

Scordatura Music Society presents a string orchestra program conducted by acclaimed young conductor, Nicholas Leh Baker. Soloist that uses air to produce a sound from their instrument will be the focus of this program. The highlight of this program will be the amazing hidden gem of Josef Rheinberger’s Organ concerto in F-major with Co-Principal Guest artist, Stephen Distad from Memorial Drive United Methodist Church. Co-Principal Guest artist, Soprano, Su-jin Cho returns to sing selections from Wolfgang A. Mozart’s Exsultate, jubilate. Also the orchestra will perform J.S. Bach’s “Air on the g string” and will present Tchaikovsky’s famous serenade for strings. Other selections on this wonderful program will be sung by Jubilation Choir from Memorial Drive United Methodist Church.

About the Advita Fund USA
We offer financial assistance to the patients who have been diagnosed with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. We also serve as advocates for our patients: we help them obtain consultations by world-renowned experts, enroll in clinical trials with emerging medications, develop support network and raise funds for treatment.
Advita Fund USA is a sister organization to AdVita (from Latin “ad vitam” - for life) fund in Russia. It was founded in 2001 by a young man from St. Petersburg who lost his close friend to leukemia. It now works with four cancer hospitals in St. Petersburg and supports hundreds of cancer patients and their families from Russia and the former Soviet Union with daily purchases of medications, medical supplies, lodging and other treatment-related expenses.

How will the ticket sales benefit Advita?

Your support will help our patients get access to the latest in cancer care. Children and adults in Russia and other countries in the former Soviet Union are often misdiagnosed, not treated with the most effective medications, and lack access to promising clinical trials. We work hard to change that.
Our non-profit is volunteer-based. That way we ensure that the majority of donations are spent on direct help to patients. The Scordatura Music Society’s offer to put on a benefit concert will help fulfill our mission in funding our projects to help others.
